Our 8 Month Round Up

On Saturday our Little Fella turned eight months old.

He really is growing up too fast and each day that passes he is getting to be more and more fun.

8 Month Round Up

His hair is really starting to grow now and it's hard to tell what colour it's going to be as it seems to change with different light but I'm sure it's going to be dark.

8 Month Round Up

We brought down the baby walker from the attic last week and he absolutely loves his new found freedom.

Moving backwards and banging into doors (the louder the better) is totally hilarious to him.

8 Month Round Up

When he lies on his tummy he tries so hard to get moving but as of yet he cannot co-ordinate legs and arms. We'll keep trying though.

He loves his new teddy friend Chip or maybe it's just his shoes and labels.

Learning how to wave and clap hands is so much fun.

He still has two teeth but there's a third due any day now.

8 Month Round Up

He continues to be amazed by his hands getting so much amusement out of them.

We have lots of tickles hidden away at the top of our leg, feet and tummy.

Our home is filled with squeals of delight.

He loves to pull his hat off when we are going out even though it's still so cold here.

8 Month Round Up

He likes to pull hair and moves with great speed and accuracy to get you at the roots where it hurts most.

He is amazing and whilst I wonder where the last eight months have gone I am looking forward to the next few weeks to see what they bring.

Birthday Boy

Happy Birthday to our fabulous Inbetweener who is 8 years old today.

He was born at 23.18 hours and weighed in at 8lb 6ozs.

Always smiling, having a laugh and enjoying himself he is a pure joy and we are so proud of him.

Lots of love, hugs and kisses today and always.

We will be celebrating with family this evening and then he will have his party at the weekend and he's really looking forward to it.

A Very Special Bond

The bond between siblings is a very special bond.

There is nothing better than watching our three together, playing, laughing, cuddling, enjoying each other.

They truly adore each other.

I am thankful that the age gaps between each of them doesn't really matter.

Some people told me when I was pregnant that the gaps were to big and that they would grow up and move in different circles -  they would never be close.

I disagree and I firmly believe that no matter what the age gaps between siblings they can have a close relationship as long as the family unit is strong.

My own family is incredibly close and I would like to think that our family will be the same, no matter what,  that they will always have someone and somewhere to go to when life doesn't go according to plan.

Our Teen is brilliant with both of the boys, she is so good to them. She helps to look after our Little Fella, she helps our Inbetweener with his homework, as well as other countless little things.

She is the best big sister and they are very lucky to have her.

Our Little Fella lights up when he sees his big sister and brother, even at this early stage he knows that they are all his. Both of them are under his spell and his wish is their command.

Last week when our Teen was going to a disco I heard her brother tell her she looked beautiful. (That's pretty impressive for a 7 year old, I think I'm going to have to watch him in a few years!)

Just yesterday evening I was clearing the dinner dishes and I could hear squeals of laughter coming from the living room. Our Little Fella was laughing so much at this big sister and brother entertaining him that he almost choked.

I savour these moments because in the real world it won't always be like this, perfect yet simple and precious.

It's infectious.

I hope and pray that their bond will continue to grow and that they will always be there for each other.

Do you think that age gaps make a difference to how your children bond? I'd love to hear your thoughts...

Our Grown Up Weekend - Part 2

Here's some more bits of our weekend.

April 2013

When we arrived in Dublin on Saturday the first thing we did was to head off to the National Gallery, we walked up past the Convention Centre, Custom House and on up to Grafton Street taking in the all the street activities along the way.

April 2013

I love street music, Mr P always enjoys a pint of Guinness and insists that it really does taste better in Dublin.
I even joined him and had a half pint - my first time drinking it.

April 2013

Bicycles were out in force this weekend in Dublin.

April 2013

The National Gallery is one of my most favourite places to visit in Dublin and for me it's a great way to spend an afternoon exploring a truly magnificent collection of art.

At the moment there is a beautiful display of sketchbooks by Jack B Yeats. There was even some sketches of Donegal where he was a frequent visitor.

Another exhibition is the Treasure Sheets European Works, showcasing drawings and prints dating back as far as the fifteenth century - I think that's incredible to have survived in perfect condition - if only they could speak.

After a lovely afternoon out and about we had a lovely meal at a Moroccan Restaurant called Dada.

I have wanted to try Moroccan for ages but it's not something everybody is willing to try, so taking full advantage of being on our own we gave it a shot.

I wasn't disappointed and will certainly try it again.

The food was full of flavour, we had a very nice bottle of wine, the staff were lovely and it was good value for money.

Hoping your weekend was as relaxing as ours, come back tomorrow for yet more photos of our weekend.

7 Months On

Having a baby in the house means that time flies past so quickly, weeks suddenly become months.

Babies don't stay brand new for long and today 7 whole months have passed.

We are learning new things every day.

This tiny little person is fast becoming a very determined and strong willed individual.

His giggles fill our home.

He makes the most hilarious noises and has a very high pitched scream that our cat and dog don't quite understand.

He has a great sense of humour and loves tickles especially his feet.

He is learning how to sit up on his own and rolling, rolling, rolling!

He continues to be totally amazed by his hands, I love the way he studies them.

 He loves music and singing.

He goes into long rants of dadadadada, bababababa and sometimes maaam, maaam, maaam.

I love driving along in the car and listening to him babble away to himself.

He is going to move into his own room this month (fingers crossed)!

It's the most wonderful thing watching your child take wonder in everyday things we take for granted.

Our world is so much better having our Little Fella in it, we love him xxx
